North Penn-Liberty's Haley Litzelman and Kendall Graham both scored in double-digits to lead the Lady Mounties to a 44-21 victory over the Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team Tuesday night.
Litzelman dropped 17 and Graham added 16 to combine for 33 of the team's 44 points.
Wellsboro trailed 7-4 after the first quarter, however the Lady Mounties' offense heated up through the middle periods, going on a 32-13 run to lead 36-20 heading into the 4th quarter, which they outscored the Lady Hornets 8-1.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz led Wellsboro with 9 points while sophomore Kate Bryant pitched in 6. Freshman Kya Lawton added 4 points and Amelia Hulslander rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
Wellsboro shot 3-of-6 from the foul line while North Penn-Liberty made 7 of 10 shots from the charity stripe.
North Penn-Liberty swept the evening, winning the JV game 22-12. Freshman Lena Rothermel scored 6 points while sophomores Madison Nagy and Aileen Bowers, and freshman Dillyn Patt all scored 2 points each.
The loss is the Lady Hornets' 7th in a row, bringing their record to 3-11 (1-8 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action Thursday against Cowanesque Valley for their annual Senior Night game.
