Lady Warriors Fall To NEB In Offensive Slugfest

Canton dropped a 21-18 thriller against NEB during NTL softball action.
Canton led 4-2 after one, but a 6-run second saw the Panthers take an 8-5 lead.
NEB added four more runs in the third to go up 12-6, but a 7-run fourth from the Warriors made it a 14-13 contest with the Panthers up.
A 7-run fifth from NEB saw them get to 21-runs. Canton would chip away, with three runs in the fifth, then one run in each the sixth and seventh, but couldn’t get all the way back.
Jaylee Ward (3-for-5) had a home run, 3-RBI, and three runs scored, as Raya Preston (3-for-5) had a double, three runs scored, and 2-RBI.
Nevaeh Vroman (3-for-5) had 2-RBI with a run scored, with Tiffany Acla (3-for-5) scoring, and driving in a run.
Lindley Sechrist (2-for-5) had a double with three runs scored, as Lexi McMurray (2-for-5) had two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI.
Tara Gilbert (2-for-4) had a double, 2-RBI, and three runs scored, with Lucy Proseus (1-for-5) scoring twice, and driving in a run.
Preston started, and went two innings with one strikeout, one walk, eight hits, and eight runs scored.
Ward went the final five innings, striking out five with seven walks, 12 hits, and 12 runs.
