Freshman Elijah Kennedy set a new personal best in the 50 Free as the Wellsboro Varsity Swim team battled against Athens and Central Columbia Friday.
Kennedy finished 8th in the event, swimming a 33.51.
The Wellsboro boys fell to Athens 99-27 and Central Columbia, 91-28. Athens also defeated Central Columbia to sweep the event, 82-69.
In the girls meets, Athens defeated the Lady Hornets 78-32 and Central Columbia 74-68. Central Columbia also defeated Wellsboro 92-37.
For the boys, Freshman Conlen Whitsell finished 7th in the 50 Free (32.66) and was 6th in the 100 Breaststroke (2:05.49). His 50 Free time was a personal best.
Freshman Austin DeShazo was 3rd in the 200 Free (2:17.16) and was 5th in the 100 Free (1:01.20).
Sophomore Elijah Shrawder finished 6th in the 200 Free (2:46.65) and was 7th in the 100 Free (1:11.07) (new PR).
Sophomore Wyatt Sporer finished 4th in both the 200 Free (2:24.54) (new PR) and 100 Breaststroke (1:21.47).
Junior Max Mascho placed 3rd in both the 50 Free (24.89) and 100 Free (57.59). Both were District IV qualifying times and his 50 Free was a personal best.
For the girls, Freshman Joelle Bull took 4th in the 200 Free (2:31.80) and was 5th in the 100 Back (1:24.23).
Sophomore Piper Anderegg won the 500 Free in 5:56.82 and was 2nd in the 50 Free (27.19). Both times were personal bests and district qualifying times.
Senior Makenna Robbins brought home a pair of 3rd place finishes in the 50 Free (28.23) and the 100 Free (1:01.74), both district qualifying times.
Senior Kristina Belz took home a 4th place finish in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:23.67 and was 7th in the 100 Free (1:15.88). Her 100 Breaststroke time was a District IV qualifying time.
The girls also fielded a 400 Free Relay and finished 3rd in 4:30.38.
The teams are back in the pool Tuesday.
