Troy fell to Waverly, 14-13, during non-league football action.
The Wolverines led 14-0 late in the third quarter when Mason Smith ripped off a 53-yard touchdown run. Then with 1:14 left in the fourth Brendan Gilliland punched one in from 13-yards out.
However, Troy went for the 2-point conversion and were stopped by the Waverly defense.
Gilliland finished with 141-yards rushing on 26 carries while Smith ran the ball nine times for 78 yards, and Kael Millard had 45 yards rushing on 11 carries.
Smith was 2-for-4 for 14-yards with an interception as Reed Palmer hauled in a 17-yard catch. Logunn Heasley added an interception.
Troy out gained Waverly 255-162 on the ground, but also had two turnovers on the day to go with eight penalties for 65 yards.
