ATHENS - Wellsboro scored in the 15th minute of the game, and made it stand, adding an insurance goal late in a 2-0 season-opening win over Athens here Tuesday in a key early-season NTL girls soccer match-up.
"I could not possibly be disappointed with our effort," said Athens coach Rich Pitts. "We had a ton of chances, and just could not bury them," he added.
