Warriors Sweep Season Series With Sayre

Canton pulled away from Sayre for a 13-5 win in NTL baseball action Tuesday, sweeping the season series.

Sayre led 2-1 after one, then pushed that lead to 3-1 in the third. Canton tied it up at 3-all in the fourth, then out scored Sayre 4-2 in the fifth for a 7-5 lead.

The Warriors would ice the game with three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings for the win.

Ben Fitch (3-for-5) had a home run, 4-RBI, and three runs scored as Michael Beers (3-for-4) had a double, 2-RBI, and three runs scored.

Zack Colton (2-for-3) had a double, two runs scored, and 2-RBI, as Rylan Wesneski (1-for-4) had a double with a run scored.

Carson Castle (1-for-4) scored twice as Bailey Gardner, and Isaiah Colton both found home. Gardner, and Aaden Dowling (1-for-4) each had an RBI.

Reed Taylor started, and went three innings with five strikeouts, two walks, three hits, and three runs, two of them earned.

Colton went the next two innings to get the win, striking out one with two walks, five hits, and two earned runs.

Beers tossed the final two innings with four strikeouts, and two walks.
