NEWARK VALLEY - Sophomore Alissa Vough and junior Jacob Shores posted top-10 finishes to lead the Athens girls and boys to sixth-place finishes here Friday afternoon at the Bob Greene Cross Country Invitational.
Athens girls finished sixth in the team standings with 143 placement points, District 2's Abington Heights won the team title with 50 points, while Elk Lake was second with 58 points, and Owego was third with 75 points.
Athens finished sixth in the team standings with 181 points. Elk Lake, which had the top three finishers, won the team title with 38 points, while Horseheads was second with 91, and Abington Heights was third with 101 points.
