Troy used a 3-run fifth inning to edge North Penn-Liberty, 4-2, during NTL softball action Thursday.
"It was a good win for the ladies," Troy coach Wayne Pratt said. "They came into the game with a great mindset, made plays when needed, and put the ball in play when they had too. It was a crazy atmosphere."
Troy jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, with the Mounties using a 2-run third to go up a run.
Then came Troy's 3-run fifth that propelled them to the top, and they held NPL from there.
Kali Ayres (3-for-3) scored a run, and drove one in, while Amber James (2-for-3) added an RBI.
Sydnee Bellows (1-for-1) scored and drove in a run, as Lauren Ridall crossed home twice. Madi Palmer added an RBI, as well.
Erin Knapp got the win in the circle, striking out four with no walks, five hits, and two unearned runs.
