Troy Girls Fall To Central Columbia In Season-Opener

BLOOMSBURG - Troy fell to Central Columbia, 46-33, in their girls' basketball season opener Saturday.

A slow start put them in a 6-point hole at the first horn, but Troy out scored them 13-9 in the second to cut it to 21-19 at the half.

The Blue Jays held Troy to just five third quarter points to extend the lead, then out scored them 14-9 in the fourth to pull away.

Raelynn Woodward led Troy with 10 points, while Izzy Renzi netted eight. Kyah Renzo scored six, Giana Renzi notched five, and Emma Mickley chipped in with two.

Quinlan Blake had 16 to lead Central with Jude Flick scoring 11.

Three different Trojans scored in the first quarter as they were down 12-6 after one.

Izzy went off for five in the second while Renzo and Giana hit 3-balls.

Woodward would score eight of her team high 10 points in the second half for Troy.
