Troy Blanks Athens, 2-0, In Key Early-Season Battle

EAST TROY - Troy took a major step toward its sixth straight NTL girls soccer title Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 win over Athens.

"The game didn't disappoint in the play on the field," said Athens coach Rich Pitts. "Troy is a well-coached, dynamic team that made us better today.

"I could not be happier with the effort we put in tonight, and look forward to the next time we play them," added Pitts.
