It was a happy homecoming as Troy rolled past North Penn-Mansfield, 58-10, during NTL football action Friday.
Troy led 38-7 at the half as seven different Trojans scored touchdowns on the evening.
Kael Millard led things off with a 23-yard run at the 8:59 mark of the first quarter. Gavin Lykon-Leffler's kick was good for a 7-0 lead.
The Panthers had some tricks up their sleeves, and unleashed one on their ensuing drive as Luke Kreger had a halfback pass to Colton Pellett for a 78-scoring strike. Brody Grinnell hit the point after and it was 7-7 with 7:27 left in the opening frame.
Troy came back with a 12-yard touchdown run from Mason Smith, followed by a 43-yard scoring run from Brendan Gilliland. Lykon-Leffler nailed both PATs for a 21-7 lead at the first horn.
In the first play of the second quarter Smith hit Josiah Pesesky for a 10-yard scoring strike, as Lykon-Leffler hit the extra point to make it 28-7.
Lykon-Leffler would split the uprights again, this time for a 25-yard field goal.
Troy ended the first half scoring with a 1-yard Millard run as Lykon-Leffler’s kick made it 38-7.
Grinnell would hit a 35-yard field goal to start the second half scoring.
Jayden Kutt would answer for Troy with a 1-yard dive into the end zone to make it 44-7.
With 30 seconds left in the third Spencer Martin hit Roland Smith for a 48-yard scoring strike as Lykon-Leffler hit the point after for a 51-10 score.
Hunter Watson added the final score, a 4-yard run, with 2:16 left as Lykon-Leffler’s kick made it a 58-10 final.
