A 9-run fourth inning powered Troy to a 12-2 win in five innings over Canton during NTL baseball action Monday.
The game was 2-2 going into the fourth as the Warriors round a way to hang around, but Troy was able to take advantage of some Canton errors in the fourth to break the game open.
They finished with 14 hits on the day as Brendan Gilliland (3-for-4) had two runs scored, and an RBI.
Five others had multi-hit games: Frye (2-for-4) had a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, Lincoln Chimics (2-for-2) scored a run, Evan Woodward (2-for-4) scored twice, and drove in a run, Trey Teribury (2-for-3) had 2-RBI, with a run scored, and Logunn Heasley (2-for-2) scored, and drove in a run.
Mason Smith (1-for-3) had a double, 3-RBI, and a run scored, as Jack Burbage, and Cam Allen both crossed home.
Palmer started, and recorded the win, going 2 1/3-innings with five strikeouts, two walks, two hits, and two earned runs.
Frye tossed the next two innings with three strikeouts, two hits, no walks, and no runs, while Harper went the final two-thirds.
Bailey Gardner (3-for-3) had two doubles, with a run scored, and an RBI, as Zack Colton (1-for-3) also drove in a run. Ben Fitch scored their other run.
Michael Beers went 3 1/2-innings with no strikeouts, two walks, eight hits, and six runs scored, five of them earned.
Rylan Wesneski tossed a third, allowing two walks, two hits, and five unearned runs. Reed Taylor went two-thirds of an inning with one strikeout, two walks, two hits, and one earned run.
