JERSEY SHORE - Athens got off to a slow start, and never recovered in a 64-35 loss to Jersey Shore here Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the District 4, Class 4A girls basketball playoffs.

Jersey Shore jumped out to a 13-5 lead after the opening eight minutes. Sophomore McKenna Jarvis knocked down a 3-pointer and scored all five of Athens' points in the opening stanza.
