Troy baseball lost a 15-14 thriller to North Penn-Mansfield in NTL action on Thursday.
Troy jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead, then both teams scored five runs each in the second inning.
The Trojans would tack on three more in the third for a 12-5 lead. NPM began their comeback with a 4-run fourth to cut it to 12-9.
The Trojans added a run in the fifth, but saw the Tigers continue to close with a 4-run bottom half to make it 13-13.
Both teams scored a run in the sixth, then NPM got the walk-off winner in the seventh for the win.
Reed Palmer (3-for-5) had a double with a run scored, as Mason Smith (2-for-4) scored four times.
Trey Teribury (2-for-3) scored twice, as Brendan Gilliland (2-for-5) also crossed home. Camden Allen (2-for-5) had a multi-hit day with Lincoln Chimics (1-for-4) scoring twice.
Joseph Frye crossed home twice, as Evan Woodward and Jack Burbage (1-for-4) both scored, as well. Burbage’s hit was a double.
Palmer started, with Frye and Frank Harper also coming on to pitch. They combined for seven strikeouts, 14 hits, five walks, and 15 runs.
