Lady Warriors Fall 3-1 To Athens

Canton lost a tough 3-1 match at Athens during NTL volleyball action Tuesday.
The Wildcats took the first set 25-21 with the Warriors winning the second 25-20. Athens then pulled out the win with victories of 25-23 and 25-17.
Tara Gilbert had 12 points, 12 digs, and five kills for Canton as Cailyn VanNoy notched 20 digs, eight points, and six kills.
Kaybree Kendall had 17 points, 26 digs, and five aces as Brenna VanNoy added nine points, 15 assists, eight digs, two aces, and a kill.
Makenna Seachrist notched five kills, one dig, and two blocks, with Adelynne Cardona getting eight points, two kills, three digs, two blocks, and an ace.
Danah Wesneski notched eight points, four assists, five digs, two kills, and an ace with Ashley Valera getting a kill, and a dig, as Alyssa May had an assist, and Nevaeh Vroman added a dig.
Athens won the JV match 25-15, and 25-20.
Lindley Sechrist had three aces, two kills, two digs, and an assist for Canton as Raya Preston notched four aces, five assists, three digs, and a kill.
Lexi McMurray had an ace, and two kills, as Amelia Pepper added eight digs, one ace, and one kill.
Hannah Walters had four kills, Emilia Pepper notched six digs, with Emilee Walker getting an ace, and a dig, and Lydia Mead had one kill.
