Wellsboro completed the season-series sweep of rival North Penn-Liberty as they defeated the Lady Mounties 3-0 in their annual Chuck Tameris Memorial Trophy "Pink Out" Game on Thursday.
The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-21, won the second 25-18, and closed the match out in the third with a 25-19 victory.
Junior Blake Eckart scored 9 points (3 aces) and made 7 kills and 16 digs to lead Wellsboro while sophomore Peyton Keane scored 8 points and sophomore Kendall Sweet added 7 points.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz had 8 kills, junior Ellie Largey made 8 assists and 16 digs, senior Taylor Main had 14 assists and 14 digs, and junior Madison Cruttenden recorded 19 digs.
Wellsboro also swept the JV game 2-0, winning 25-17 and 25-12.
The Lady Hornets improve to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the NTL Large School Division. The team returns to action Saturday against Coudersport.
