The Wellsboro Girls Basketball team suffered a 58-35 road loss at Wyalusing on Tuesday, February 4.
The loss was the Lady Hornets' 4th straight.
The Lady Rams jumped out to an early 15-7 lead to start their Senior Night, then outscored the Lday Hornets 14-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 29-15 lead into the locker room. Wyalusing again stretched their advantage to 43-20 with a 14-5 3rd quarter run.
Both teams scored 15 points apiece over the final eight minutes.
Seniors Chloe Brandenburg and Paige Logsdon both scored 12 points apiece to led Wellsboro while freshman Teagan Novinger added 8 points and freshman Adelyn Frantz chipped in 3 points. Novinger added 10 rebounds to her point total, Logsdon added 6 boards and 4 assists, and Brandenburg had 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Frantz and junior Lily Wagner also added 4 rebounds each.
Rachel Wilson (15) and Alysha Botts (12) led Wyalusing on the night.
Wyalusing swept the evening with a 20-14 win in the JV game. Freshmen Kate Bryant and Amelia Hulslander, and junior Sophia Yoder all had 4 points each.
Wellsboro (5-13, 2-12 NTL Large School Division) hosts Towanda on Saturday afternoon.
