The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team erased a two-game losing streak after shutting out Northeast Bradford 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Emily Benjamin broke the scoreless tie with 14 minutes remaining in the first quarter to put Wellsboro up. With 33 minutes left to play sophomore Luna Moyer struck off an assist from freshman Haylie Smith.

Junior Jadyn Dunlap recorded 3 saves for a clean sheet.

"Our ball movement was excellent, and we kept creating chances until we broke through," head coach Michael Reese said. "Seeing Emily get her first goal of the season was special and I believe it's just the beginning for her. What stood out most was the way the team responded after tough losses. They came together, trusted each other and showed the kind of resilience that defines great teams."

The Lady Hornets improve to 4-2 (3-2 NTL) on the season. They return to action Saturday morning at Hughesville.
