A pair of second-half goals by Montoursville sent the Wellsboro Varsity Boys Soccer team home with a 2-0 loss Saturday afternoon.

"I am very proud of the boys. It wasn't the result we wanted, but they were disciplined executing the game plan and had some opportunities against undefeated and state ranked Montoursville," head coach Todd Fitch said.

After a scoreless first half the Warriors' Quinn Winslow found the back of the net just under eight minutes into the start of the 2nd half. Winslow later struck with five seconds remaining in the game. Both goals were assisted by CJ Lucas.

Montoursville out shot the Hornets 12-5 and both teams had two corner kicks apiece. Senior Camden Tom made 8 saves in goal.

The JV game ended in a scoreless tie.

The loss drops the Hornets to 11-5-1 overall. The team is back in action for their regular season finale Tuesday evening against Loyalsock.
