Hornet Swimmers Bring Home 7 1st Place Finishes In Season-Ending Loss To Towanda

The Wellsboro Swim team suffered a pair of losses to Towanda in their final regular season meet on Monday, February 10, but took home seven combined first place finishes.

Towanda defeated Wellsboro 109-31 while the Lady Knights won 75-22.

For the boys, sophomore Ethan Pollaro was 1st in the 500 Free (6:25.96) and 2nd in the 100 Breast (1:28.93), freshman Wyatt Sporer took 1st in the 100 Breast (1:20.18) and was 3rd in the 50 Free (27.13), and freshman Matthew Robbins won the 50 Free (24.40) and the 100 Fly (1:05.47).

For the girls, freshman Piper Anderegg won the 50 Free (26.97) and the 100 Fly (1:09.71) and junior Kristina Belz won the 100 Back (1:23.37) and was 2nd in the 200 Free (2:47.59).

The team will be back in the pool for the District IV Championships in Williamsport on February 26-27th.
