Hornet Swim Teams Fall To Athens

Wellsboro fell to Athens in both the boys and girls swim meets on Tuesday, January 7.

Athens won the girls meet 94-30 and the boys, 121-25.

Junior Makenna Robbins took the top spot in both the 200 IM (2:38.72) and 100 Free (1:03.66).

Freshman Piper Anderegg won the 200 Free in 2:10.49 and the 500 Free in 6:03.05.

Junior Kristina Belz was 4th in the 50 Free (33.43) and 4th in the 100 Backstroke (1:27.74) and freshman Molly Doan was 5th in the 50 Free (40.80) and 5th in the 100 Backstroke (1:56.16).

For the boys, freshman Matthew Robbins was 2nd in the 200 Free (2:06.39) and 2nd in the 500 Free (5:52.42).

Sophomore Ethan Pollaro took home 3rd in the 200 IM (2:51.74) and 4th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:29.33).

Freshman Wyatt Sporer swam 27.32 to finish 2nd in the 50 Free and was 2nd in the 100 Backstroke (1:17.98).

Freshman Eli Shrawder was 3rd in the 100 Free (1:16.46) and 5th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:55.25).

The team is back in the pool against Central Mountain and Jersey Shore next Tuesday.
