Hornet Golfers 2nd At Towanda

The Wellsboro Golf Team finished 2nd in a tri-match with Towanda and Cowanesque Valley at the Towanda Golf Club on Monday.
The Black Knights shot a combined score of 153. Wellsboro's round of 178 placed them 2nd and Cowanesque Valley finished with a 191.
Towanda's Boom Thompson shot the low round on the afternoon, finishing with a 35 through nine holes.
Junior Syler Pietrzyk was the top finishing Hornet, tying for 3rd with a round of 38. Sophomore Chase Schultz finished with a 44, sophomore Logan Johnson and freshman Benjamin Jackson had rounds of 48, freshman Samuel Jackson finished with a 49, and senior Kiernen Whitsell carded a 57.
Wellsboro (17-7) is back in action after Labor Day on their home course at Tyoga against Athens and North Penn-Mansfield.
