Boys XC Team Falls To Towanda, Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Boys Cross Country team dropped a tri-meet to Towanda and Wyalusing at home on Tuesday afternoon.

Towanda won 21-36 and Wyalusing beat the Hornets 26-29. Towanda also beat Wyalusing 18-37 to sweep the meet.

Towanda's Boom Thompson finished 1st overall, running 19:03. Seniors Max Macias (19:29) and Henry Whitney (20:17) finished 3rd and 4th overall, respectively, to lead Wellsboro.

Freshman Taitt Webster (23:02) finished 12th, senior Ethan Geneski (23:33) was 15th, senior Henry Nowak (24:16) was 16th, sophomore Jack Hammerton (25:27) came home 17th, freshman Jesse Spicer (25:58) was. 18th, and freshman Austin DeShazo (29:22) finished 22nd.

In the Junior High meet the Hornets defeated Wyalusing 25-30 but fell to Towanda, 21-34.

Wiley Sargent (13:06), William Rudy (13:18) and Lucas Crowl (13:20) finished 7th through 9th, Emmett Tice (15:32) came home 11th and Jeff Rawson (15:34) was 12th.

The team is back in action Saturday at the McQuaid Invite.
