Athens Shakes Off Slow Start; Tops Canton, 47-33

CANTON - Athens shook off a slow start, and used a strong middle two quarters in a 47-33 win over Canton here Tuesday night in NTL girls basketball action.

The Warriors led 10-6 after the first quarter, but sophomore McKenna Jarvis sparked the comeback with six points, including a 3-pointer, and senior Emma Bronson canned a 3-pointer in an 11-3 run that gave the Wildcats a 17-13 lead at the half.

Bronson scored six points in the third quarter, while Jarvis scored five points, including a 3-pointer, senior Addy Wheeler scored four points, and freshman Allie Kemp drained a 3-pointer to fuel an 18-7 run that made it 35-20 heading into the final eight minutes.
