WELLSBORO - Athens scored a pair of second-half goals, sandwiched around junior Zach Fisher stop of a Wellsboro penalty kick, in the Wildcats' 2-0 win here Tuesday afternoon in NTL Large School Division boys soccer action.
The win snaps a six-game losing streak against the Hornets, who had won 9 of the last 10 games against the Wildcats.
"It's a very big win today for the boys and the program as a whole," said first-year Athens coach Travis Reynard. "I am beyond proud of each and every one of them for fighting an entire 80 minutes.
