The Wellsboro Golf team brought home a 5th place finish at Shepard Hills Country Club on Monday, September 16.
The Hornets shot a combined 353 to finish ahead of Cowanesque Valley (376) and Sayre (468).
Athens claimed their fourth consecutive league title with a round of 318. North Penn-Mansfield (333) finished 2nd, Wyalusing (345) was 3rd, and Towanda (347) was 4th.
Five Hornets shot under the century mark on the afternoon, led by sophomore Syler Pietrzyk with a round of 87 (tied for 13th overall). Sophomore Gideon Lawton and freshman Chase Schultz both shot rounds of 88, junior Marek Mascho finished with a 90, and junior Kiernen Whitsell carded a 98. Freshman Logan Johnson rounded out the team with a score of 115.
Wellsboro (11-25, 11-25 NTL) returns to Shepard Hills for their final league match next Monday.
