Wellsboro Girls Conclude Season In 5-2 Loss To Muncy

Wellsboro fell 5-2 in their regular season finale to Muncy on Thursday, October 17 to end their season 5-11-2 (4-7-2 NTL).

The JV game ended in a scoreless tie.

Sophomore Emily Benjamin put Wellsboro up with 29:19 remaining from an assist by sophomore Ella Boyce, however the Lady Indians tied the game up one minute later, and proceeded to add two more quick goals, all in under two minutes to take a 3-1 lead over Wellsboro.

Boyce scored with 7:41 left in the opening half, assisted by senior Megan Robbins, to cut the lead down to 3-2, but again Muncy answered with another goal, this one with 4:30 left in the half, to push the lead back to 4-2.

Muncy added their final goal 10 minutes into the second half.

Muncy out shot Wellsboro 15-6 on the evening and had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks. Senior Emma Mosher started in goal. Freshman Hailee Benedict made 10 saves in relief.
