Troy Scores 4 First-Half Goals To Shut Out Wellsboro

Four first-half goals led Troy to a 4-0 shutout over Wellsboro on Wednesday, September 4.

Giana Renzi scored the game's first goal with 14:37 left to play to put Troy up before the flood gates opened on the Lady Hornets. Saydi Renzo scored a pair of goals, one at 11:20 and the second with 2:04 left in the opening half, to make it a 3-0 game before Braylynn Schaeffer found the back of the net with 56 seconds left in the half to push it to 4-0.

Troy took 25 shots on goal to Wellsboro's 3 and had an 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Sophomore Jadyn Dunlap made 6 saves in goal for Wellsboro.

Troy also won the JV game 1-0, on a goal by Raelyn Woodward with 17:17 left in the game.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the NTL standings. The team is back on the field on Saturday morning at Williamson.
