Trojans Roll Past Rival Canton For Old Shoe Win

Troy football rolled to a 61-20 win over Canton in the Old Shoe, going undefeated in the regular season for just the third time in program history.

Troy had 444 total yards of offense as Brendan Gilliland rushed for 126-yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.

Evan Woodward had 50-yards rushing and a score on five carries, while going 6-for-10 for 90-yards with a touchdown.

Kael Millard had five carries for 22-yards with two touchdowns as Noah Ellis, and Spencer Martin also had rushing scores.

Joseph Frye had two catches for 66-yards with a touchdown, with Gavin Lykon-Leffler going 7-for-9 on extra points.

Troy had three first quarter touchdowns, with Woodward getting a 5-yard run, then hitting Frye for a 53-yard scoring strike. A Gilliland 20-yard run made it 20-0 at the first horn.

The Trojans added three more touchdowns in the second, as Gilliland had a 7-yard run, while Millard had touchdown runs of 1-yard and 13-yards.

Gilliland opened the third quarter with a 58-yard touchdown run, while Ellis had a 2-yard scoring run late in the third.

Martin had the final touchdown for Troy, a 51-yard run midway through the fourth.
