Trojans Edge Southern Columbia, Advances To D4 Class 3A Title Game

Troy survived a late push from Southern Columbia to pull out a 70-68 win during the District IV, Class AAA boys' basketball semifinal.

The Trojans led by seven with 30 seconds to go as the Tigers cut it to a 2-point game in the final seconds. Their game winning 3-ball bounced out as the buzzer went off.

Evan Woodward led Troy with 18 points, five boards, and four assists, as Jack Burbage had 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Lincoln Chimics finished with 15 points, four boards, three assists, and three steals, with Colin Loveland adding nine points and five assists.

New marksman Jackson Taylor added six points and four boards before fouling out, with Lance Heasley getting four points, five rebounds, and two blocks off the bench. Joseph Frye chipped in with two points, two steals, and three assists.
