Robbins Set To Join Lycoming Swim Team

Senior Madison Robbins signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Lycoming Swim Team on May 20th.
Robbins led the Lady Hornets in the 50 Free (27.61) and the 200 Free (2:18.99), was 3rd in the 100 Free (1:03.64), the 100 Breaststroke (1:16.33), and the 200 IM (2:40.74). She was also 2nd in the 500 Free (6:18.810).
Robbins is the 2nd member of this year's swim team to sign on to swim collegiately in the fall. Teammate Isobel Anderegg signed her Letter of Intent to swim at Alfred earlier in May.
Robbins first learned about Lycoming from former Lady Hornet swimmer and Lycoming alum, Cathryn Brought.
"Cathryn is my boss at the Packer Park pool and attended Lycoming," Robbins said. "She took me to tour the campus for the first time. I also attended an overnight visit to learn about the team, see how their practices go, and what a college meet is like. I also got a chance to talk to current team members and meet the head coach."
Robbins plans on majoring in early childhood education and psychology. She was also considering Susquehanna, but once she stepped on Lycoming's campus, she knew it was for her.
"Susquehanna was my second choice. Susquehanna was very pretty but the people at Lycoming are really nice and it's what I pictured as a college. The campus is so pretty, all the buildings are close to each other, it's not far from home, and the team members are really nice. The class sizes are also smaller so the professors can get to know each student."
Finally, Robbins credits the Wellsboro program for helping her to get to the next level.
"The swim program has helped me realize that every race isn't about winning. You have to go into every race thinking you are going to give it your best and if the outcome isn't what you want then there is always the next race. You always have to have a positive attitude given either of the circumstances."
Coaches Anderegg and Dodson-Webster wish Madison the best in her collegiate career.
