After suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday, the Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Hughesville in non-league action on Monday, September 16 to get back in the win column.
Wellsboro won 25-16, 25-15 and 25-14. The JV team was also victorious, winning 25-14 and 25-9.
Sophomore Madison Cruttenden scored 10 points (2 aces) and 10 digs to lead Wellsboro. Senior Paige Logsdon made 13 kills and scored 7 points (3 aces) while senior Lexi Urena had 5 kills, 6 digs and 2 blocks. Sophomore Ellie Largey had 6 assists, junior Taylor Main had 10 assists and scored 10 points (1 assist), senior Arianah Lawton made 5 digs, and junior Brooke Wheeler and sophomore Blake Eckart had 2 kills each.
Wellsboro improves to 7-1 (5-0 NTL Large School Division) on the year, and hosts Troy this evening.
