Lady Hornets Fall To Wyalusing

Wellsboro fell 9-0 in their first full-length game of the season on Friday, May 3.

The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the 3rd when the Lady Rams plated 6 runs to take the lead. They added 3 more in the bottom of the 4th.

The Lady Hornets were held to just four hits in the game. Junior Arianah Lawton collected a pair of singles while sophomores Tegan Del Rio and Harleigh Cleveland had the remaining two hits.

Freshmen Mazie Johnson and Bailee Confer split time on the mound for Wellsboro. Johnson started and threw the first 3 innings, the returned in the 6th, and allowed 6 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits with a strikeout. Confer allowed 3 runs on 2 hits with 7 walks and a strikeout.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 3-11 (1-11 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action at Sayre on Monday.
