The Wellsboro Girls Track team won their 2nd meet of the season, taking down Troy and Towanda in an NTL tri-meet at Towanda on Tuesday, April 9.
The Lady Hornets scored 87.5 points, Troy came home 2nd with 57 points, and Towanda rounded out the field with 38.5 points.
"Our athletes did well, despite the heat," head coach Elizabeth Hoover said. "Many athletes set new personal records across all events. We are looking forward to better weather next week!"
Freshman Piper Hoprich (12.93) and sophomores Sophia Yoder (13.89) and Jordan Rumsey (14.09) swept the 100m, senior Maddy Mascho (31.51) and freshman Ava Magli (32.07) were 2nd and 3rd in the 200m, and Mascho (1:13.34) and senior Isobel Anderegg (1:16.01) was 4th and 5th in the 400m.
Freshman Megan Newruck (3:24.93) was 4th in the 800m and freshman Lauren Kosek won both the 1600m (6:01.70) and the 3200m (11:49.32) runs.
Senior Sara Seeling (18.87) was 2nd in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles (52.68).
Wellsboro won the 4x100m relay (52.78), was 2nd in the 4x400m (4:57.25) and 2nd in the 4x800m (13:26.21).
Junior Annie Gehman (5-ft) and freshman Ella Boyce (4-ft, 6) were 1st and 3rd in the high jump, the duo took the top two spots in the long jump with Gehman jumping 15-ft, 3 and Boyce surpassing 12-ft, 9, and Gehman (32-ft, 11.5) and Newruck (28-ft, 0.5) were 1-2 in the triple jump.
Seniors Grace Harlan (28-ft, 9) and Hannah Gilmour (26-ft, 9) were 1-2 in the shot put, Gilmour (75-ft, 7) and junior Paige Logsdon (74-ft, 2) were 1-2 in the discus, and Logsdon (98-ft, 6) won the javelin with Seeling (75-ft, 9) in 5th.
The team is back in action at the Molly Dry Invite at Mansfield University tomorrow afternoon.
