The Wellsboro Junior High Basketball teams split a pair of games with Troy on Tuesday, November 19.
The boys teams picked up a pair of wins over the Trojans. They won the A game 30-25 and the B game, 44-23. "It was a great defensive effort by both teams," said head coach Ben Largey.
In the girls game Wellsboro lost 41-16. Haylie Smith was the top scorer with 6 points followed by Kya Lawton with 5. Paige Rush added 4 points. Shayla Hamblin was the top rebounder with 4 boards and Lawton contributed 3. Smith also led the team in steals with 5. Lawton and Lena Rothermel had 4 steals each.
Both teams are back in action at Athens this evening.
