The Wellsboro Junior High Basketball season got underway Saturday morning, as both teams traveled to Northeast Bradford.
In the girls game, Wellsboro fell 35-16. Kya Lawton was the high scorer with 7 points, followed by Shayla Hamblin with 6 points. Hamblin and Paige Rush added 3 rebounds each.
The was no B game.
In the boys game Wellsboro won, 38-19. Braylen Jessup led the team with 12 points along with Grady Morral, James Doughtie, Maddon Mascho and Colton Hauser all contributing points on the offensive end.
Northeast Bradford won the B game 28-20. Tucker Bencus led the team with 12 points along with Colton Hauser, Ian Ingerick and Reed Moyer all scoring.
