Hornets Take 4th At River Valley

The Wellsboro Golf team had their best finish of the season as River Valley Country Club hosted the Northern Tier League teams on Tuesday, September 10.
The Hornets finished 4th overall with 363 points to edge Wyalusing (367), Cowanesque Valley (387) and Sayre (509). Athens remained undefeated on the season with a combined round of 319 to edge North Penn-Mansfield (321) and Towanda (327).
Four Hornets shot under 100 of the afternoon, led by sophomore Syler Pietrzyk with a round of 84. Junior Marek Mascho finished with an 89, freshman Logan Johnson carded a 94 and junior Kiernen Whitsell added a round of 96. Sophomore Gideon Lawton finished with a 106 and junior Garrett Kaltenbach rounded out the field with a 116.
Wellsboro (7-17, 7-17 NTL) is at Shepard Hills on Monday.
