Junior Max Macias guided the Wellsboro Varsity Boys Cross Country team to a pair of wins over North Penn-Mansfield and Sullivan County on Tuesday, September 17.
The Hornets scored 27-29 wins over both Mansfield and Sullivan County, while Sullivan County beat Mansfield, 24-32.
Macias finished 2nd overall in 19:36 with junior Henry Whitney directly behind him in 20:15. Junior Ethan Geneski ran 23:38 to finish in 10th place, freshman Lane Cozby (24:42) was 11th, freshman Jack Hammerton (25:44) was 13th, and junior Henry Nowak (27:05) was 14th.
In the Junior High race Sullivan County beat Wellsboro 20-27 and Mansfield 21-40. Wellsboro edged Mansfield 17-19.
Taitt Webster was 4th overall in 13:52 followed by Austin DeShazo (14:57) in 8th, Jacob Patterson (15:31) in 9th, and Colt Cozby (16:00) in 11th.
Wellsboro (4-3, 3-3 NTL Small School Division) takes on Athens and Wyalusing in Athens next Tuesday.
