Troy got a strong pitching performance to down Athens, 5-1, in NTL baseball action.
Reed Palmer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored at the plate, then got the save, pitching the final 1 1/3-innings with one strikeout and one walk.
Camryn Harwick got the win, going 5 2/3-innings with nine strikeouts, three walks, three hits, and one unearned run.
Brendan Gilliland (2-for-4) scored twice while Joseph Frye (2-for-4) had a multi-hit game.
Clayton Smith (1-for-4) scored and drove in a run with Jackson Taylor (1-for-4) and Camden Allen (1-for-4) each getting an RBI. Lincoln Chimics (1-for-4) also had a hit.
