Canton edged the defending District IV, Class A champions, South Williamsport, 3-2 in non-league volleyball.

It was back and forth all night long with Canton winning the first set 25-20. The Mounties took the second 25-22, the Warriors claimed the third 25-17, and South rallied for a 25-12 fourth set win.

Canton had the last laugh with a 15-10 deciding set victory.

Kendall Kitchen and Nevaeh Vroman each had 20-20 games while Addi Pepper had a triple-double.

Kitchen finished with 36 digs and 24 points to go with five aces, five assists, and a kill, as Vroman had 24 points, 20 assists, four aces, four digs, and two kills.

Pepper added 19 digs, 16 assists, and 11 points plus four kills, and three aces, with Tara Gilbert getting a double-double of 11 kills and 12 points, adding in eight digs and three aces.

MaKenna Seachrist had 19 kills and four points, as Cailyn VanNoy notched six points, eight kills, and 10 digs. Addy Cardona had two kills with two blocks, and Alyssa May chipped in with a point, a kill, a dig, and an assist.

Canton won the JV match 25-14, 25-19.

Emilia Pepper had nine kills and two aces, as Danah Wesneski had 10 kills, and two aces.

Katie Barry had 10 assists, two digs, and an ace with May getting four digs, three aces, and a kill.

Maci Colton had six assists, two digs, and an ace, while Cardona had three kills.

Ashley Valera notched three digs with a kill, Lydia Mead had two digs with a kill, while Jericka Strozyk and Danika Burgess each chipped in with two digs.
