Canton jumped out fast and held on late to beat Athens, 3-1, in NTL volleyball action.
They won the first two sets 25-8 and 25-18, while the Wildcats took the third set 25-18. Canton finished them off with a 25-20 win in the fourth.
Nevaeh Vroman had a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists plus six aces, one kill, and four digs as Cailyn VanNoy had a double-double of 14 points and 13 digs, plus three aces, and four kills.
Tara Gilbert had a double-double of 12 points and 13 digs while adding eight kills, and five aces, as Kendall Kitchen notched 36 digs to go with nine points, three aces, and a kill.
Addi Pepper had nine points, 11 assists, eight digs, three aces, and two kills, as MaKenna Seachrist had nine points, eight kills, one ace, three digs, and two blocks.
Addy Cardona had three kills with two blocks, and Danah Wesneski chipped in with two kills, and a block.
Athens won the JV match 25-21 and 25-17.
Maci Colton had five digs and two assists for Canton as Alyssa May had two aces, two kills, and a kill.
Kate Barry had five digs, two assists, and a kill, while Vroman had a dig, an ace, an assist, and a kill.
Wesneski notched an ace with four kills, while Cardona had three kills. Lydia Mead had an assist with a kill, Emilia Pepper had two aces, and Ashley Valera notched two digs.
