Athens Sweeps Danville; Advances To Class 3A Title Match

WILLIAMSPORT - After a hard-fought first set, third-seeded Athens dominated the final two in a sweep of second-seeded Danville here Saturday evening in the semifinals of the District 4, Class 3A volleyball championships.

The Wildcats, now 5-11, won by scores of 25-21, 25-10, and 25-18.

"The ladies played intense tonight," said Athens coach Heather Darrow. "The first-game jitters turned into momentum, creating all out energy to get the job done as a tea. From the bench to the court, they all wanted this match," added Darrow. "What a great experience for this team to be a part of."
