JOHNSON CITY - Norwich used a big second quarter to open up a 19-point halftime lead on its way to a 70-47 win over Athens here Friday night in the opening round of the Mark Woitach Tip-Off Tournament.
Norwich started quickly and jumped out to a 19-12 lead after the first eight minutes, despite junior Adam Kemp's eight points, which included a pair of 3-pointers.
The Purple Tornadoes stretched out its lead with a 19-7 second-quarter blitz.
