Athens Blows Game Open In Second Half; Tops Sayre, 51-6, In 'Rusty Rail' Rout

ATHENS - Athens scored four TDs in the fourth quarter to blow open a close game on its way to a 51-6 win over Sayre Friday night in the annual Rusty Rail rivalry game here at Alumni Stadium.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 20-3 in "Rusty Rail" games, which began in 2000. The Redskins still lead the long and storied rivalry 62-51-10.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 16-0 lead, but a TD pass late in the second quarter closed the gap to 16-6 at the half.
