The Selinsgrove track and field teams picked up right where they left off last season after sweeping the competition in a season-opening tri-meet hosted by Midd-West on Tuesday.
The Seals girls bested Shamokin 84-66 and Midd-West 122-27.
Returning state qualifier Carly Aument won both the 100-meter and 200-meter races. Aument ran the 100 in 12.41 seconds and the 200 in 25.89 seconds.
The Seals girls also dominated both hurdle events, grabbing three out of the top four spots in each race. Abby Parise won first in both the 100-meter (16.16) and 300-meter (47.03). Ava Blair won fourth in the 100 and third in the 300. Alyssa Varias was third in the 100 and fourth in the 300.
Shakiya Stapleton won two field events for the Seals. Stapleton earned first in both the shot put (31'10") and discus (93'3").
