Selinsgrove beats Jersey Shore in league opener

JERSEY SHORE — Shaela Kruskie won all three distance races, Abby Parise won the hurdles races and the long jump, while Carley Aument won the 100, 200 and 400 - all for the second straight meet - to lift the Selinsgrove girls to a 87-63 win over Jersey Shore in the Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I opener for both teams.
Kruskie won the 800 (2:32), the 1,600 (5:23.9) and the 3,200 (12:16.2). Parise won the 100 hurdles in 16.8, and the 300 hurdles in 47.9. Parise, Alyssa Varias and Ava Blair swept both hurdles races for Selinsgrove (5-0 overall, 1-0 HAC-I). Parise's winning long jump was 16-8 1/2.
Aument won the 100 (12.6), the 200 (25.0) and the 400 (1:04).
Blair (triple jump), Maddy Fertig (high jump), Grace Bingeman (pole vault) and Shakiya Stapleton (shot put) also won events for the Seals.
