Seals win league opener

JERSEY SHORE — Derick Blair won all three distance races, Brady Deivert took the hurdles races, and Logan Rodkey won the 100 and 200 as the Selinsgrove boys knocked off Jersey Shore, 85.5-64.5 in the Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I opener for both teams.
Blair won the 800 (2:03.7), the 1,600 (4:48) and the 3,200 (10:43.6). Deivert won the high hurdles in 16.6, while taking the 300 intermediate hurdles in 42.2. Rodkey's winning time in the 100 was 11.3, while his victory in the 200 came in 23.5.
Collin Melhorn and Max Maurer each took 1-2 in the discus and the shot put. Maurer won the discus, while Melhorn won shot put. Both throwers topped 50 feet in the shot put.
