Loyalsock got a pair of goals from Evan Anderson in a 3-0 win to snap Wellsboro's four-game win streak on Saturday, September 16.
However, it was Brycen Savoy that put the Lancers up not even two minutes into the game on a shot right in front of Wellsboro's goal.
"We found ourselves chasing the game following Loyalsock's early goal and although we had opportunities, we couldn't get the ball in the net," said head coach Todd Fitch. "It just wasn’t our night. We need to regroup and get ready to return to league play this week."
Anderson scored both his goals in the second half, the first on a penalty kick with 24:02 remaining and the second with 23:13 to go. Loyalsock held the Hornets to 7 shots on goal and also had an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior Mitchell Butler stopped 5 of Loyalsock's 8 shots on the night.
The JV game ended tied 1-1 with freshman Jacob Smith scoring the Hornets' goal.
The loss drops the Varsity team to 4-2 overall (3-1 NTL). The team is back in action at Troy on Tuesday.
