Hornet Grapplers Finish Season At District Wrestling Tournament

Williamsport - The Wellsboro Wrestling team's season ended at the District IV Class 2A district wrestling tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 24-25, 2023.

Sophomores Ryder Bowen and Silas Mickey were both in action for the Hornets.

Both Mickey and Bowen dropped two matches during the event. In the opening round Mickey suffered a 16-1 tech fall in two minutes against Warrior Run's Kaden Milheim then later lost his first consolation round match to Danville's Kyle Vanden Heuvel, via a 2:32 pin.

Bowen dropped his opening match in 4:39 to Montgomery's Coy Bryson then suffered a 3:53 second pin to Benton's Evan Brokenshire.

Wellsboro finished the tournament in 31st place.
