Canton's Riley Parker took sixth at the PIAA Wrestling Championships, while teammate Hayden Ward came up just short of the medals.
Parker (172) opened with a 2-1 win over Notre Dame-Green Pond's Garrett Tettemer in the first round, then beat Bald Eagle's Caleb Close 10-4 in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals Parker was pinned by Frazier's Rune Lawrence, the eventual state champion, in 3:43, before falling to Glendale's Suds Dubler 5-0 in the fifth round of consolations.
During the medal round Parker was pinned by Southern Columbia's Garrett Garcia in 2:36.
Ward opened with a 6-4 loss to Chestnut Ridge's Trevor Weyandt in the first round, but then came back to beat Jefferson-Morgan's Chase Frameli 7-3 in the first round of consolations.
In the second round of consolations he won 6-4 over Burrell's Shawn Szymanski, but then was pinned by Penns Valley’s Ty Watson in 5:43 during the blood round.
